NORTHCOTE-BIRKENHEAD CLUB.
TRAINING-SHED PROPOSAL IN HAND. The Rugby Union Football Club at Northcote and Birkenhead, which has just completed its first season, is displaying a good deal of enterprise for the furtherance of the game in those suburbs. In order that the various teams may be physically equipped for next season's matches, it is proposed to forthwith erpct a gymnasium and training-shed. 35ft wide and 72ft long. A site near the south-eastern boundary of Little Shoal Bay Reserve is considered to he a most suitable location for this building, which would adjoin a potential playing field. Application has been made to the joint owners of the reserve, the Nnrthrote and Birkenhead Borough Councils, for the necessary area for the building by the secretary of the club. Mr. L. Nicholson. At the meeting of the Northcote Borouch Council Inst evening, the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Greenslade) explained that a tenure similar to that civen to the Birkenhead and Northcote Tennis Club could be given by the. ioint owners. This was a tenancy-at-will. which could be terminated by cither party cirin:: three months' notice, and would entitle the club to remove any buildings or fences erected on the jrround. The rental was the nominal amount of 5/ per annum. On the motion of Mr. 11. J. C.
