PREFERS SUPREME COURT.
SEAMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT. When given the option of being dealt with summarily by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police" Court this morning, or going before the Supreme Court on a charge of stealing an attache case valued at, £4, James Anthony Lynch, a seaman, and a native of Newfoundland, aged 2o : elected to go before a judge and jury. He was accordingly remanded until November 13. "The facts are that Lynch was found in possession of the case and was endeavouring to dispose of it," said Chiei Detective Hammond. "He explained thai a man named' 'Joe, down the street, 1 gave it to him."
