TRAGIC MOTOR ACCIDENT.
NO BLAME ATTACHABLE. MAN AND WIFE KILLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner at the inquest on Edward Elton and his wife, victims of a motor accident on Whiteman's Valley Road, 25 miles from Wellington, on Sunday, October 27. In the coroner's opinion the evidence did not show that blame was attachable to anyone. Mr. and Mrs. Elton were being driven with their daughter, Mrs. Alexa Barton, and her child by Mr. Leonard Frank Barton. When about to pass another car at a sharp bend Mr. Barton's car left the road and crashed into a gully. Mr. Elton was killed outright, and Mrs. Elton died in about 20 minutes. Mr. and Mrs. Barton and the child were all injured.
