Dr. E. D. Aubid is absent from Auckland on a brief holiday. Sir Truby King was a passenger from South by the Limited express this morning. > Mr. Guy L. Wilson, of London, the daffodil expert, left Auckland for Rotorua this morning. Mr. H. Jackson and Misses E. and T. Jackson, of To Aroha, are spending a holiday at Devonport. Mr. E. Burrows, of Opotiki, left Auckland yesterday after a month's holiday in the city.
Mr. S. L. Paterson, -S.M., who has been on a visit to Auckland, was a passenger to Rotorua by the express this morning. Mr. C. F. Eskell, of Wellington, New Zealand manager of Universal Films, is staying at the Grand Ho Lei. Dr. Kidson, Government Meteorologist, was a passenger from Wellington 0 to Frankton by the Limited express this morning. Mr. P. St. J. Keenan, draughtsman in head office of the New Zealand Railways, Wellington, arrived in Auckland by this morning's Limited express. Mr. H. Henkel, musical director for the new Civic Theatre, has arrived from Sydney, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Staying at the Star Hotel are Mr. S. H Jenkinson and Mr. H. M. Millar (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. Harold Menzics (Thames), and Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Smith (Sydney). Sir Edward V. Johanson, of Wellington was a passenger from Sydney by the Maheno this morning. Sir Edward has been to Australia on a short health trip. Mr Andrew Hanna returned to Auckland 'by the Maheno from Sydney this morning. He was accompanied by his daughter, Miss N. Hanna, and his sister, Mrs! M. Black. The Rev. W. S. C. Stephens, curate of St Mary's, New Plymouth, has been appointed vicar of-the parochial district of Fitzroy, vacant by the appointment of the Rev. G. T. Bcalo to Stratford. Mr A E. Manning, managing director of the "Waikato Times," and a director of the Farmers' Auctioneering Co Hamilton, arrived in Auckland by the' Limited express this morning. Gueste at the Grand Hotel include Mr. G. Martin (Sydney) Mr. R. (Christchurch), Mr. E. Cumber (Syd ney), Mr. and Mrs. J. £ttwooa (Perth), Mr. A. Lulham and Mr. L. D. LlsDy (Wellington). Mr J. C. Hamilton, has been appointed missionary doctor and 8 nfc. of the Paton Memorial Hospital at Vila, New Hebrides. After seeing war service, Dr Burrell took medical degrees at Otago University in 1928. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Whelean (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. C. Weston (HamU +on Victoria), Mr. J. Shaddock ( SydTj), Mr and Mrs. B. T. Reid (Hainil--2 Mr. C.
