The general stimulus given to stock markets a* the result of a reduction m the Bank of England rate, was reflected at the 9.30 call to-day, when bank scrip which has been weak for some time took an upward turn. All the Principal line benefited. There was a sale of Bank or New South Wales at £48. Buyers for New Zealand again came up to iJ, Commercial sold at £1 7/, and tmions at £14 7/, whilst sellers generally raised their reserves. In the miscellaneous section it was noticeable that Australian issues were firmer, and higher values were quoted tor Electrolytic Zinc and British Tobacco. Colonial Sugars were quoted ex dividend, with values adjusted accordingly.
