MOST UP-TO-DATE IN THE WORLD.—The new entrance lock to Tilbury Dock* was opened on September 26 by Lady Ritchie, of Dundee, wife of th • chairman of the Port of London Authority, on board the Orient liner Oronsay, the liner afterwards passing th ough the lock. The new entrance, together with a vast new dry dock, has cost £2,550,000. It is 1000 t Ion? and has a width of 110 ft and a depth at high water of 45£ ft, and the largest ship afloat can now barth at Tilbury.
