NUCULA RETURNS.
NAVAL TANKER'S VOYAGE,
H.M.S. DIOMEDE REFUELLED,
The Admiralty tanker Nucula arrived at Auckland last evening on the completion of her return voyage from San Pedro, where she took on board a full cargo of 6000 tons of oil fuel. On her way back the Nucula refuelled the cruiser Diomede, which is on her way to England with the naval ratings of H.M.B. Dunedin, who recently completed their spell of service in the New Zealand Division. The two ships met at NukuBiva, in the Marquesas Group. They moored alongside one another in the Kukuhiva roadstead, and the transfer of oil was speedily completed. Captain A. W. Beardsall, of the Xucula, to-day reported an uneventful voyage, excellent weather having been experienced on the trip to San Pedro, and moderately fine conditions on the return trip. He said the second engineer (Mr. A. E. Falwell) had been serioiißly ill for part of the time, but his condition was now greatly improved.
