CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
MEETING AT TAUMARUNUI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesd ay. The Taumarnmii Rod and Gun Club held a vory successful clay bird shoot on Monday. The weather was Rood and the shooting was of a high standard. Results are as follows: Sweepstake (six birds).—G. Bretherton. J. Tii-own. E. Lightfoot, .1. Richards, and A. .1. Richards secured six birds each and divided the prize. Labour Day Handicap (12 birds').—G. Bretherton 1. A. .T. Richards 'J. T. Worsley 3. The winner secured 12 birds. Sweepstake (15 birds). —E. Lightfoot 1. W. Peek and J. Richards 2. The winner secured 15 birds. Sweepstake (12 birds).—G. Bretherton. J. Worsley, J. O'Donnell and .1, Brown all secured 11 birds and divided the prize. Sweepstake (12 birds). —E. Georme and ,T. Worsley secured 11 birds each and divided the prize. Sweepstake (12 birds).—G. Bretherton and R. F. Harris secured 11 birds each and divided the prize. A gimcrack match resulted in a tie between G. Bretherton. It. F. Harris and E. Lightfoot.
