DARK RAILWAY STATIONS.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

HELENSVILLE, this day,

Passengers waited in the dark at the Helensville South railway station last night from 8.30 to 9.40 p.m. for the Auckland train. It was due to leave at 8.45 p.m., but was delayed through trouble Avith the Westinghouse brakes. The Kumeu fatality might have been averted if the lighting had been better at the station. Usually there is only a dim glimmer of light after dark at Kumeu, and at most of the other wayside stations on the Kaipara line. HWMWMMMimmmMMIWIWmMBItJI
