MUNICIPAL CHOIR.
TOWN HALL CONCERT,
.A nicely varied programme was presented by the .Municipal Choir and soloists conducted by Mr. Maughan Barnett, city organist, 'to a large audience in the Town Hall on Saturday evening. Two of the principal numbers were "Angel Spirits, Ever Blessed (Tschaikowsky), and "The Little Sand Man'' (West). A bracket of three songs with an old-time flavour, (a) "In Sherwood Lived Stout Robin Hood," (b) "0 Wert Thou in Cauld Blast" (the original Burns air, arranged by Robertson), (c) "My Little Pretty One," was well received. "The Bells of . St. Michael's Tower" and "Let Me the Canakin Clink" (Me(Lwen) ■ were both enjoyable numbers. Jhree organ solos were plaved bv Mr. Barnett, Tchaikowsky's "Andante' Cantabile," Boellmann's "Toccata,"' and Schubert's "By the Sea." Vocal solos were "Drink to Me Only" ami "Spreading the News" (Herbert Oliver) as.a bracket, and "A Birthday" (Woodlian), by Miss Lola Solomon. The third soloist was Miss Mollv Wright ('cellist), who played Bargiel's "Adagio," Palmgren's "The Swan" and Ravel's "Piece en lonne do Habanera.". Mr. Leo.
