ONEHUNGA WAR MEMORIAL.

ENTRANCE TO JEIXICOE PARK OPENING CEREMONY ON SUNDAY. -Arrangements for the opening of the Soldiers': Memorial at the entrance to Jellicoe" Park, Onehunga, are now complete. The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, who will perform the opening ceremony on Sunday, will be met at the entrance by the Mayor of Onehunga, and after inspecting the guard of honour will be escorted to the platform, on which will be assembled the ministers of the;various local churches taking part in ; the service. In front of the platform a portion has been roped off, and this space is reserved for the Sunday school children, the returned soldiers, the bands and the 500 troops taking part. The services will be amplified through Harrington's Agency,, thus; making it possible for all to- hear. 1 The Auckland Aero Club will also be represented, one 'plane at least flying, over the ground from 3 to 3.30. Quadrant Road will :be ' closed for vehicular traffic, but ample parking accommodation is provided in the immediate neighbourhood. Admiral: Jellicoe took a keen interest in the park named after him and opened by-him. He would be delighted with its present appearance, for, thanks to the skill of Messrs. Larkman and Legg, it has never looked more beautiful and gay with, its wealth of bright flowers and well-kept lawns.
