FURTHER TESTS PLANNED.

LONDON, October 17,
The RlOl had her first experience of rough w T eather yesterday when she successfully rode through a sudden wind storm, which varied in velocity from 35 to 45 miles an hour. Storm orders were immediately issued and other preparations were made in ease of a breakaway, but the • "Times" aeronautical correspondent, who was aboard, says that she rolled so gently and evenly that the motion was almost imperceptible.
The RlOl will fly again to-day for eight to ten hours. Thereafter the airship will make a round-Britain flight, including Ireland. It has to undergo four more tests before being declared airworthy. These will consist of high speed and vital turning tests, which broke the back of the R3S. It is pointed out that the RlOl is merely the schedule name. When the trials are completed the airship will be christened at the masthead.. The name will be chosen by the Air Council, submitted to the King and finally sanctioned by Parliament.
It is stated that the Air Council is likely to favour a symbolic name suggested by the airship's talisman, "My Lady of the Winds" or the "Virgin of the Skies."
Many other suggestions, including "Queen of the Clouds," "Bird of Peace," "Silver Shadow" and "Fairy Queen," have been received, but the "Daily News" ears that the most likelv is
"Maitland," in memory of the . commander who lost his life in the R3B when she broke in two over the Humber in 1921.
The BlOl's sister ship RIOO will presently undergo engine trials at Howden and is expected to take the air before the end of the month.
