UNITED PARTY.
JUNIOR GREY LYNN. BRANCH.
The Junior United Surrey branch held its first social evening at the home cf Mrs. E. J. Sexton, Tutanekai Road, last evening. There was a very large attendance, about fifty new members joining the club. Mrs. Sexton, the patron of the club, in introducing the chairman (Miss Lewis) to the new members, gave a brief outline of the objects of the club. Mr. R. Glover-Clark, divisional organiser, addressed the gathering on the present political situation and its relationship to the young people. "A more active and intelligent interest in national affairs by those outside of Parliament would be marked by a higher standard of legislation being introduced in the House," said the organiser. He specially referred to the number of the younger people taking such an intelligent interest, and he felt that in future years their enthusiasm would bear fruit.
Mr. H. A. C. Davy, chief executive officer of the junior organisation, was also present. During the course of a very pleasant evening, spent in discussion and dancing, the organisation badges were handed out to members.
