Small Field in Northland Handicap.
PROMISE OF GOOD SPOUT.
Dfespite a Small acceptance in one or two events at the Northland Trotting Club's meeting to-morrow there is promise of fine sport* and this gathering-, which is growing in favour with Auckland followers of trotting and pacing, offers a most enjoyable outing. Following close upon the Waikato fixture, and with the Auckland spring meeting on the following Saturday, many trainers, with teams engaged at Auckland, have not been able to spare the time to make the trip to Whangarei, otherwise the acceptances would have been considerably larger. For those wishing to attend the meeting from Auckland the Railway Department will run a special train, leaving Auckland at 6 a.m. to-morroW, arriving at the Course at 11.18 a.m» the Northern Company's steamef Clansman leaves Auckland this evening for Whangarei at 10 and leaves Oh the return trip at 8 p.m. on Saturday hightj
