Guests at the Star Hotel arc Messrs. R. Duthie, of Christchurch, C. H. Hod'son, of Hamilton, Douglas C. Adams and G. D. Vincent, of Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. 11. W. Batyn, of Otorohanga, and Mr. G. N. Segal, of Sydney, are staying at the Central Hotel. Arrivals at the Royal Hotel include Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Trout, of Hamilton, D. Gardner, of Oio, Mr. L. Craig, of Hastings, and Mr. H. Ingram, of Wanganui. Messrs. A. 11. Talbot and A. C. le Grice, of Sydney, Messrs. A. P. Morgan and W. L. Donolxue, of Whangarei, and Mr. G. Coverdale, of Te. Awamutu, are at the Hotel Cargen. Dr. and Mrs. Waddcll, of Hamilton, Captain J. Fraser, of Wellington, and Messrs. F. McQuarrie and C. Taylor, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. .Albert Spencer, president of the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association, will leave to-morrow morning by car for Wellington, where he will attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, to be held on October 22. Mr. Spencer will return to Auckland at the end of the month. Captain Attwood, who has been in command of H.M.s. Laburnum for the past two years, finishes his commission with the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy in a fortnight's time. Captain Attwood, accompanied by his wife and family, is returning to the Old Conntry. His * successor will arrive in New Zealand by the Rangitiki.
