PREPARING FOR NEXT ELECTION.

CANDIDATE FOR FRANKLIN SEAT. There was a large attendance at the animal meeting of the Franklin branch of the Country Political League, delegates being present from Glenbrook, Mauku, Bombay, Pukekohe East, Waiuku and Kohekohe. The president, Mr. J. W. Robinson, presided. Officers elected were: President, Mr. Robinson; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Hodgkinson and A.'lngram; secretary, pro tern, Mr. F. A. Harcombe; treasurer, pro tern, Mr. C. Hodgkinson; committee, officers ex officio, and Messrs. J. Muir, R. K. Membery, E. Gathcote, H. Carey, A. L. Hull, V. Wright, and G. Page. It is the intention of the league to nominate a candidate for the Franklin seat at the next general election.
