The tennis' courts'" at Te. Kbpuru, Northern Wairoa, were opened on Saturday, when ;a large number of players and friends were present from all over the district. Mrs. W. N- Smythe held an enjoyable card party at her. home on Saturday evening to help the funds for the children's, play areas at .Mount Albert. On Saturday a number of the South Sydney football team attended the reunion held by the Devonport. League Club, and others we guests at an evening given by Mr. and Mrs. Keitn Woolfe, Margaret Street, Ponsonby. The host and hostess, of Sydney, have recently become residents of Auckland. The entertainment was devoted largely to dancing. 'A number of enjoyable musical items -were given, among them being a vocal number by Mr. D. Brown, Mrs. Woolfe's brother. A delightful afternoon was .spent yesterday by the wives and daughters of delegates to the conference of the ; Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand which is being held in Auckland at the present-time. They were taken for a motor drive, and shown the many places of beauty around the city and suburbs, and during the afternoon alighted to have tea at the Ellerslie kiosk. The drive was organised by the wives of members of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, the ladies' committee including: Airs. Alfred Eady, Mrs. S. Leyland/Mrs. F.Winstone, Mrs. J. A. C, Allum, Mrs. P. J. Crump, Mrs. Wendall Phillips, Mjs,, Hudson, Mrs. A. M. Seaman, Mrs. F. Hellaby, Mrs. Neale, and Mrs. W; Boucher. The visiting ladies were: Mrs. Paish, Mrs. W. Machin, MrsMcGowan, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. C. H. Weston, airs". H. S. E. Turner, Mrs. Bowden. Mrs. Richards. Mrs. Seed, Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. R. Smith, Miss McNaught, and Miss Gilbert.

A very enjoyable morning tea was held at the Lyceum Club yesterday in honour of the wives and daughters of delegates attending the conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand. The Takapuna Boating Club gave a successful dance on Saturday evening in the Clubhouse, at Bayswater, the attendance being excellent.
