SALVATIONISTS' FAREWELL.
A very important series of meetings will be taking place in Auckland during the coming week-end, to suitably mark the farewell of Commissioner and Mrs. Hay, who will be sailing for Canada on Tuesday, October 22, after three years' strenuous but successful command of New Zealand. The Commissioner will arrive on Saturday morning by the Limited from Wellington. In the afternoon he will meet at tea a representative number of bandsmen and prominent locals from the surrounding corps. At 8 p.m. there will be a farewell musical festival held in the Congress Hall. In addition to special services on Sunday, at 3 p.m. the Commissioner is_ to lecture on "The Salvation Army in New Zealand," with his Worship the Mayor presiding, supported by influential citizens. This will be the Commissioner's last lecture in this country. On Monday, following an officers' gathering, the final farewell rally will take place. A large march lias been arranged, the Scottish Pipe Band heading the same. In addition there will be C tbe Congress Hall Band and a united band formed. Prominent in the march will be a large number of officers vr.ul soldiers, and "the life-saving organisations attached to Devonport, Onehung;i. Newton, Newmarket and the Congress Hall. Colonel and Mrs. Taylor, from Wellington, and a large number of officers will be present for this important weekend in Army circles.
