AUCKLAND CITY CLUB.
The Auckland City Rifle Club fired the third shoot for the president's trophy at Penrose on Saturday under good conditions. The ranges were 300 and 500 yards, the 1 former causing the marksmen a lot of trouble. Competition was very keen, G. G. Kelly's winning score being good, but the outstanding performance was that of the Grammar School boy, C. Robieson, who was within two points of the leader over open sights with a military rifle and no sling. Spoons were won by C. Robieson, N. W. Chiswell and C. Peat.
