The Collector of Customs advieed that of the 30 Asiatics, who arrived by a steamer recently none were admitted as permanent residents, and nine had been banned. A letter from the Minister of Lands on native land bettlenient was discussed, and it was urged that the Koheroa block should be retained for native selection only. The following telegram of congratulation was sent to-day to Archdeacon. Williams: "We greet thee on thy appointment to the bishopric as a eup"porting to Te Aotearoa.
