FOOT CUT BY AXE.

MAN SEVERELY INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE, this day. Mr. Gordon T. McKenzie met with a serious accident this morning, while felling bush on Mr. A. L. Diprose's property. His axe caught in a supplejack vine and was diverted to the instep ■ of his left foot. Enduring great pain, Mr. McKenzie was carried from the bush and taken ten miles to Te Puke, where he was attended by Dr. MacFarlane. He suffered much from loss of blood au<l will be incapacitated indefinitely.
