A.C.A. AFFAIRS.
THE COMING SEASON. NOMINATIONS DUE OCTOBER 15. Appreciation of the work of the coaches Bowley and Langridge in the Mount Albert Grammar School and King's College was expressed by the Mount Albert School headmaster and the King's cricket master at a meeting of the A.C'.A. executive last night. In each case a desire ' was expressed to have the coaching continued by Wensley, who had been engaged this year through Lord Hawke. In response to a request from the Poverty Bay Association for a visit this season by a strong Auckland team, it was decided that an endeavour be made to send a team during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Messrs. J. S. Barrett and W. H. Winsor were reappointed the Association's resident delegates in Christchurch to the New Zealand Council.
The following sub-committees were appointed: — Advertising committee, Messrs. E. C. Beale, G. Jackson, R. W. Dow, J. H. Watts, N. Hockin; coach committee, same as last season, with Mr. P. Shaw substituted for Mr. W. J. Smeeton; country committee, Messrs. E. C. Beale, H. Duncan, N. Martin, J. H. Miller, W. J. Smeeton, H. Warneford, P. Shaw, N. Hockin.
Tuesday, October 15, was fixed as the closing date for entries for this season's club competitions. The registration fee for players who have reached the. age of IS years was increased from 2/0 to 4/, and that for players under 18 years from 1/ to 2/, the additional revenue to be paid into the coach fund.
Mr. D. V. Moore was appointed chairman of the junior committee, and it was decided to ask the senior clubs and the larger junior clubs to facilitate tho appointment of the junior committee by forwarding their nominations before next Tuesdav.
The New Zealand Council offered to make the match Auckland v. M.C.C. a four days' fixture, instead of restricting it to three days, and this offer was accepted.
OTOROHANGA CLUB. OTOKOIIAXGA, Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Otorohanjra. Cricket Club took place, with Mr. E. F. Fairbrotlier presiding The cash statement showed receipts, principally subscriptions, to have been £37 12/2, and the expenditure included £11 S/2 on a dressing shed and £18 12/6 on cricket gear for two teams. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. R. F. Turk; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. Ross. A. .T. McCready. S. J. Fortescue, E. Gobbust, A. R. Morley. A. A. Ellis, P. J. McXamara and' Dr. Gilberd; club captain, Mr. H. G. "Corbett; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Corbett; auditor, Mr. C. Tucker; delegates to the association, Messrs. J. and H. G. Corbett and D. Ross; management committee, Messrs. M. A. Hoult, V. L. Fairbrother. E. Boggust, K. Cameron, and 11. G. Corbett.
