• I RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-second annual meeting of the Richmond Cruising Club was lield last evening in the clubroom. West End Koad. Mr. James Donald (president) presiding over a good attendance of members. . The commodore, Mr. T. L. Thompson, in pesentLng his •annual report, said the club regatta had attracted big entries, and some very keen racing was witnessed, the weather being ideal. The question of amalgamating with the Fonsoxiby Cruising Club was discussed by the committees of both clubs, two meetings being held for the purpose. It was finally decided by the Richmond delegates not to proceed further with the idea, and both clubs would now carry 011 as usual. Mr. Thompson asked members to support this decision, and to~ give their club all the help possible. It, ■was proposed to join in the opening ai;td closing events, and to hold a regatta and two cruising races during the coming season. The balance-sheet showed receipts totalling £7S. which left a credit of £1"> in hand. The assets were valued at £100. with no liabilities.

Mr. Dc-tald, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said it reflected credit on their executive. .He. was glad to learn that the club would carry on as usual. The Richmond Club was now twenty-two years' old. and he thought it should continue as a separate club. Mr. Donald offered to donate £."> towards club funds, and a gold medal for the skipperof the boat winning the highest number of points in the season. The offer was received with applause. The following officers were elected for the year:—Patron, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth; vice-patron, Mr. J. Longbottom: president. Mr. J. Donald; vice-presidents, same as last year, with the addition of Mr. R. Francis; commodore. Mr. T. L. Thompson: vice-com-modore, Mr. G. Smith: rear-commodore; Mr. R. .Tudd: secretary. Mr. R. .T. Thompson: treasurer. Mr. F. Downs : committee, Messrs. T. Bell, .T. Sutherland. \V. McCullough, licg. Thomson, R. .Tudd, T. liny. J. Wilcox. W. Herdegen. G. I-lumby. I. Dennis: delegates to Auckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association. Messrs. 11. .Tudd and J. Wilcox: sailing committee, Messrs. T. Bell, F. Downs and E. Hayes. Messrs. G. E. Lnycoek and W. A. Wilkinson were elected honorary members of the club. A lieartv vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Jus. Longbottom, who retired from the office of nor.." secretary after twenty years' service. Mr. Longbottom thanked members for their appreciation, and offered a cup for competition during the season, to be won outright, conditions to be decided by the committee.
