FORCED OFF THE ROAD.
CONSTABLE ON MOTOR CYCLE .TRUCK DRIVER 'FINED. ' ■' ■ (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.]! • DARGAVILLE, this day.. A man named,, M. GLamuzina was charged in the Police .Court'yesterday that while driving a motor truck he was on the wrong side of the road and made no effort to allow Constable New : land to pass. .-' .' '. .. . .. ' Constable Newland said that, accompanied by Constable Wakelin, he was travelling on., his motor cycle to Tangowahine. When near the racecourse, and on the edge of the road, a truck driven by Glamuzina pushed him off on to the clay. The road was 17 feet wide. The truck was travelling';from'2o.to-25 miles an hour, and its driver made no effort to swerve. Had , he not gone on the clay the truck would have gone over him. Constable Wakelin also gay.e evidence. He said he interviewed Glamuzina, who would make no statement. His only reason was that.there were too many on the seat of the truck, and also he had no wiper, on his windscreen..-The consstable said light rain was failing/but the visibility was good. . '■' '. Glamuzina was fined £3 and costs.
