SUBURBAN FIRES.
I ---—' CHIMNEY AND A CAR. A chimney fire in a house at 6, Ard more Road, Ponsonby, called out the .City brigade about 7 o'clock this morn ing. The dwelling was occupied by Mrs Ray and owned by Mr. Graham. Xc damage was done. A similar call was received by the Remuera brigade at 6.40 last evening t< 38, Remuera fcoafl. The house, oocupiec by: Miss Cummings and owned by Mr E. B. Boswell, was not damaged. Benzine overflowing 'from' a tank whic! was being filled, was the cause of a flr< which broke out in a motor car at i bowser in Trafalgar Street, Onehunga vesterday. Prompt attention by thi Onehunga brigade prevented seriou dp.mage, only the hood and upholster being touched. The car. a five-seate Standard, was owned by Mr. James Neil' of Norman Hill Road, Onehunga. I was insured for £150 in the New Zea land Insurance Company.
