Bulolo Not a Good Racehorse.
Bulolo had every chance in the Gladstone Handicap, as he was well placed not far from the leader at the entrance to the straight, but when an effort was required he collapsed in a few strides. He has the speed, but he is not a good racehorse. ' " Wingatui put up an attractive performance when she won the Farewell Handicap, though it was only in the last stride that she headed Narrative. On the previous day, in the hands of an apprentice, she ran badly in the Geraldine Cup, but a change of horsemen brought heavy support, with a happy result for her fresh backers. This mare's form is very moderate at times, but on her day she is very useful. Narrative ran two good races at Geraldine. She was in a head finish in the concluding event each day, for a win and a second. She is in great fettle at present, and another stake may come her way shortly, as she is one of the solid and consistent kind, whose chance must always be respected.
