SHARP EARTHQUAKE.
FKLT IN WELLINGTON. ORIGIN IN COOK STRAIT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", tins clay. A sharp earthquake, which awoke many people, occurred at 2.12 a.m. ' The seismograph indicates that the earthquake was of local origin, probably in Cook Strait, at a distance of 70 or 80 miles from Wellington.
