LAWN TENNIS.
TUAKAU CLUB. TUAKAU, this day. The official opening of the Tuiikau Tennis Club's season was held on Saturday. There was u large gathering of players, including visitors from other clubs. The president, Mr. P. A. Hillary, declared tho courts open for play and the first ball was served by Mrs. Hillary. ST. JAMES , CLUB. PUKEKOHE, Saturday. At the annual meeting of St. James' Tennis Club. P.ukeknbc. the following officers were elected :—Patron, Itev. ,T. Pattison; president, Mr. A. Sehlaepfer; vicepresidents, Messrs. R. Sehlaepfer, G. K. Wright, C. K. Lnwrlo and ,T. Connie; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Fausett ; auditor, Mr. D. R. Hamilton; club captain, Mr. A. Fausett: vice-captain, Mr. A. C. Gill, jun.; committee, Misses A. Scott, M. Smith, N. Perkins and L. Knowles, Mrs. S. Fitness and Messrs. G. Wright, R. Perkins, ,T. Adams and G. Perry; delegates to tno Franklin Association, Messrs. A. Sehlaepfer and A. Fausett. It was decided to open the club's courts for the season on October 19.
