BURIED ON WEDDING DAY.
BRIDE KILLED IN" ROAD CBASH. A collision between a motor car and a motor cycle combination, in which the occupant of the sidecar was killed, bad a sequel at Hay (Brecon) Police Court, when John Lauder, the driver of the car, was fined £15 and costs for dangerous driving. The offence was committed on the HayBrecon Road, when Lauder, who was driving towards Brecon, crashed into a motor cycle combination, with the result that Miss May Rowley, the occupant of the sidecar, was killed. The evidence alleged that Lauder was on the wrong side of the road, and left the driver of the motor cycle combination, Sidney Sayce, of Wolverhampton, no room to pass on his proper side. To avoid a head-on collision, Sayce tried to get round on the. other side, but the motor car swerved towards him. Mr. William Jones, who appeared for Lauder said be could not attend as he was sailing that day for America. He is an employee of the Asiatic Petroleum Company in the Philippine Islands. The defence was a denial~of the allegation that' Lauder drove his car on the wrong side of the road. , Mr. Sayce and Miss Rowley were to have been married at Wolverhampton, but by the irony of fate she was buried there on the day fixed for the marriage.
