Special precautions to prevent accidents among the crowds which will witness the arrival of the Auckland Aero Club's 'planes, which are to fly to various points in the North Island next month, are to be observed by order of the Minister, the Hon.' T. Wilford. The flights and landings are to be made for the purpose of encouraging the provision of landing grounds at centres where none exist to-day. Two machines are to leave Auckland on October 2, and the towns to be visited are Paeroa, Te Aroha, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, New Plymouth, Havvera, Wanganui, Wellington, Hastings and Gisborne. It has been arranged that school children shall have facilities to witness the landing of the 'planes, but special precautions will be taken. No spectators will he allowed on the actual landing grounds, and, if, possible, the landing areas must be roped off. Mr. Wilford, in a letter to the secretary of the Auckland Aero Club, insisted on these precautions being taken, and the secretary replied to-day that arangements were being made in accordance with the Minister's wishes.
