RIFLE SHOOTING.
WHANGAREI CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Friday. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Whangarei Rifle Club last evening. The report said the shooting had been of a much higher standard. Four members of the club went to Penrose, and two won matches, while all four were in the prize money. Both the club and service championships were won by J. P. White, and the handicap contest by J. Norris. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. J. P. White (re-elected); vice-president, Mr. J. Norris; secretary, Mr. Slade Clark (re-elected); handlcappers, Messrs. J. Harland and Slade Clark; committee, Messrs. A. Willcocks, Tohin, J. Harland. Baker, M. Stewart and Fort The shooting period was fixed from October 1 5 to April 12.
