COMMUNITY SUNSHINE.

The social hall of the Community Sunshine Building in Nelson Struct was trasforined into a bower of beauty on the occasion of an "At Home" given by the ladies of the association in honour of all who helped at the recent "Eorget-me-not" street collection in aid of the funds required to, build a "Sunshine School" for delicate children. The president, Mrs. Ferner, in welcoming the many guests, warmly thanked all the captains of the various stations and their helpers who worked so strenuously and whole-heart-edly to make the day the success it was, and especially those who represented the other social welfare organisations who came forward to lielp the children. Mrs. Ferner then read the results of the report and balance-sheet, the result of the various stations. The total of these, with other donations since received, brings the grand total to date to £912 4/, and the total cost of the campaign was £18 10/. Mrs. Ferner described the Community Club's evening work amongst the girls and boys of the district, and afternoon tea was served by the social committee of the ladies of the association. Miss Freda Gaudin sang, Mrs. Lee Cowie recited, and a large number of Training College students gave several quaint part songs.
