"BEHIND THE TIMES."
" France A Miserable And Dirty Country." RUSSIAN AIRMEN'S VIEWS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 2 p.m.) PARIS, September 19. The two Russian airmen who recently visited France in the course of their European tour in the Wing of Soviet do not appear to be enamoured of France and the French. One of them, writing to a Moscow newspaper, says that France is miserable, dirty and behind the times. Even tho policemen who' welcomed them at the Le Bourget aerodrome were shockingly dirty. The gendarme who examined their papers had a moustache full of bread-crumbs and smelt shockingly of drink.
Every day something was stolen from tho machine. After a visit to the Chamber of Deputies the Russians got the impression that the Deputies had the appearance of little bankers with prominent stomachs and doubtful linen.
