LONDON WOOL SALES. SCOUREDS SELL BETTER. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, September 19. At the wool sales 12,50S _ bales were offered, of which 5563 were New Zealand. There was a representative selection of Merinos, but competition was slack, and there were some withdrawals. There was a moderate supply of greasy crossbreds, with a good selection of slipes. Scoureds met good competition. New Zealand: Greasv halfbred, Macdonald Downs, 15d to 14d. Bradford Quotations. Bradford is weak, a small amount of covering being done for spot requirements. 64's, 34c1; 60's, S2d; 56's, 27% d; 50's, 24d; 46's, 22d; 40''s, .21d. DAIRY PRODUCE. Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., have received the following cable from their London manager, under date September 19: — Butter. —Anchor advanced to 184/ per cwt; unsalted, ISO/; other, finest, 181/ to 182/.. Market quiet at advance. Cheese.—White and coloured, 93/ per cwt. Demand improving. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Nathan and Trengrouse, Tooley Street:—New Zealand butter: Market firm. No business doing oyer 180/ yet. New Zealand cheese: Unchanged. Market quiet. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house dated 19th inst. Messrs. Samuel Page and Son report:— " Butter.—The market is firm. New Zealand finest salted, 176/ to 180/; Danish, 192/ to 194/; Australian, finest unsalted, 172/ to 178/; finest salted, 170/ to 174/; G.A.Q., 164/ to 16S/. Cheese.—The market is firm. New Zealand, white, 92/ to 93/; coloured, 93/ to 94/; Canadian, white, 92/ to 94/; coloured, 92/ to 94/; e.i.f., 93/ to 94/. AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) Oats.—Algerian, 3/4. (Received 12 noon.) MELBOURNE, this day. Wheat, 5/8 per bushel; flour, £12 10/ to £12 15/ per ton; bran, £7 10/; pollard, £4 15/; oats and barley unchanged; maize, 5/6 bushel. MELBOURNE, HIDES SALE. MELBOURNE, September 19. At the Melbourne hides sale to-day the market was irregular. Values generally were one-eighth to one farthing lower all round. BUTTER MARKET FIRM. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, September 19. The butter market is firm, with a good demand. Danish, 197/ per cwt. Choicest salted: New Zealand, ISO/ to IS2/; Australian, 178/ to ISO/. Cheese is firm. New Zealand, white, 93/; coloured, 94/. FROZEN MEAT. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house dated 19th instant:—
Lamb. —Canterbury, 28-361b, B%d; North! Island, ditto, S%d; Canterbury lamb, 36421b, 7%d; North Island, ditto, 7%d; Canterbury, second quality, 7%d; North Island, ditto, 7%d; Canterbury, 42-501b, 7%d; North Island, ditto, 7%d. The market for New Zealand lamb tending upwards. The demand is better. Mutton.—Canterbury, 48-561b, 6%d; North Island, ditto, 6d; Canterbury, 56-641b, 6d; North Island, 50-C4lb, 5%d; Canterbury, 64-721b, oYid; North Island, ditto, 5%d; Canterbury ewes, 48-641b, North Island, ditto,, at 4%d. The market for New Zealand mutton is unchanged. The demand is better. Beef.—Argentine chilled hinds, 7d; fores, 4%d; Australian ox hinds, prime, 5%d. Pork.—English pork, 80-1001b, lOd; New Zealand porkers, 80-1001b, BVzd; 100-1201b, Bd. The market for New Zealand pork is nominal. The demand is limited. Lamb.—Lamb seconds under 301b %d premium. WORLD WHEAT PRICES. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) LONDON, September 19. Cargoes were featureless at opening, but closed steadier. Parcels are steadier, with better inquiry. Futures:—London: September, 52/11; October and November, 52/7; January, 43/5. Liverpool: October, December, 9/11; March, 10/5; May, 10/8%. The spot trade is slow, and tending easier. Australian, ex ship, 50/6. Flour is quiet. Australian, ex store, 36/9. Oats are weaker, beans steady, and peas quiet.
