CRICKET.

THE PONSONBY CLUB. There was an n(.tendance of 40 members at tlio annual meeting of the Ponsonby Cricket Club, held at the Leys Institute last evening. The president, Mr. Irving Clarke, presided. The annual report showed (hat although no team won a championship, all teams did well, the senior team finishing third and llie senior B team fourth. A motion was passed expressing the members' sympathy with Mr. X. C. Sncdclen on the death of his father. Dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the unsatisfactory drill arrangements when players are called upon throughout the season for half-day parades. Trophies for the hest all-round play were presented as follow:—Senior Cup. 'S. G .Smith; Senior Cup (senior B), R. .Sellars; Laidlaw Cup (second grade), G. Lendrum! Mr. E. C. Beale took the opportunity on behalf of his brother, Mr. A. M. Beale, of Waipiro Bay, of presenting a bat to L. T. J. Monteith, as the best batsman in Mr. Beale's touring team.

The following officers were elected: President. Mr. Irving Clarke: vice-uresi-dents, last year's re-elected ; secretary", Mr. 0. Lendrum: honorary treasurer, Mr. x! I.endrum : committee, Messrs. G. J. Brown, 11. Sellars, T Mrl.eod. H. Warneford. A. Clark. George Pi esse and S. G. Smith: delegates to A.C.A., Messrs. X. C. Sneddon, S. G. Smith and F. S. Taylor; selection committee, Messrs. H. Warneford, H. G. Smith and It. Sellars: club captain, Mr. H. Warneford; honorary auditor, Mr. F. 5. Taylor.
