DEATH AT MEETING.

BOWLING CLUB MEMBER. FORMER CIVIL SERVANT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Thursday. Tragedy' attended a. meeting of tho Gisborne. Bowling Club this evening, when a prominent member, Mr. Samuel Joseph Henry Moncrieff, aged 72, a retired civil servant, collapsed and died almost immediately. Mr. Moncrieff had just submitted an amendment to a, motion regarding the laying out of the green, and had outlined his own plan, when he sat down suddenly, and death occurred within a few minutes. He was highly esteemed in bowling circles, and was treasurer of the club. He leaves a widow and two daughters.
