OBITUARY.

MRS. M. GLEESON. Mrs. Margaret Gleeson, a well-known resident of Auckland for many years, and formerly of Napier, died at her home, Symond Street, yesterday. She was the widow of the-late Mr. Patrick Gleeson, a well-known business man of this city. Mr. J, C. Gleeson, a former member of the City Council, is a Bon of deceased. Requiem mass was celebrated at St. " Cathedral this morning. Interment will be private at Napier on Sunday.

MR. H. C. HAY. The cleatli lias occurred in a private hospital of Mr. Hubert Caughey ("Bert") Hay, of Waiuku, at the age of G4. Mr. Hay was closely associated with the progress of Waiuku, and he was chairman of the Town Board. The funeral will bo to-morrow afternoon, leaving the Anglican Church at Waiuku at 2 p.m. '< MR. P. C. R. PURCELL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAURANGA, this day. Mr. P. C. Roy Purcell, licensee of the Star Hotel, died this morning of pneumonia, aged 44 years. He was president of the Bay of Plenty Hunt Club, and Waikato hounds and huntsmen arrived this morning for the first meet of the season, which was to have held to-day. It has been cancelled.

The funeral will be held in Auckland on Sunday.
