Prisoners Assault Policeman And Gain Freedom. FOUND AFTER LONG SEARCH. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY,-this day. A Bourke message states that three prisoners made a daring cscape from the Yatanbulla lock-up. When Constable Rippontook the men tea they knocked him down and brutally assaulted him, rendering him unconscious. They then escaped into the bush.^ Police on surrounding stations were immediately notified and the hunt for the escapees continued throughout the nin-ht.A tracker discovered the prisoners next day. . The police travelled over 100 miles in the course of the search.
