TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.
BUSINESS ONLY FAIK. BREWERIES STILL UP. PUKEMTROS £3 16/6. Not many sales v.-ere recorded at the 3 15 p.m. call yesterday, and only one when brokers met for the first call this morning. There is, however, renewed activity in the coal section, with buyers for virtually every line that is listed. For Pukemiros £3 15/ is offered, with holders naming £3 18/ as the selling price. Westport is 3d firmer, with buyers at £1 13/9, and a sale of Renowns at 10/ shows a 6d advance. Breweries are still very firm, with buyers at £4 10/6 for the shares, and £1 10/3 for the debentures. A quarterly report received from the East African Coffee Plantations up to May 31 states that the rainfall has heen better than usual, and the coffee trees look exceptionally well. Indications point to a much better crop for the season 1029-30. Tho Noon Call. The feature of the noon call was a sale of Pukemiro Collieries at the new high record price of £3 16/6. This line was selling in June at £3 2/3. Goldsbrough, Mort has eased further, with a sale at £2 6/, a drop of 2/6 within the last few weeks. According to cable advices there has been a weakness in most Australian stocks in consequence of the uncertainty of the political situation. Breweries maintain recent firmness, with a sale at £4 11/. Ohinemuri Mines, which had eased to buyers at 9/3, recovered 3d to-day. interest Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as " 'lows for the latest sales:— PER CENT PER ANNUM. £ s. d.
