11l a game which was neither spectacular nor exciting, the Wellington touring team defeated the Waikato representatives at Hamilton yesterday by 22 points to G. . Wellington opened the scoring witli two £oai<s from the field, first Cuming and then Heazlewood putting, over a "droppy." A few minutes-later McDonald scored an unconverted try for_ the visitors, but before half-time Waikato put their first figures 011 t'.ie board as the result of a penalty kick by Hawke. Early in the second spell brilliant work by Kemp earned Waikato a try, but an unconverted trv by Julian put Wellington eight points ahead again. After a long spell defending, Wellington attacked and Rush worth crossed for a try, which was not converted. The final score was a try by Julian, converted by Cuming, and the game ended: Wellington, 22, Waikato, 0.
