RICCARTON NOTES.

DUTCH MONEY TRAINING WELL

aIOYLAKE in good fettle

GOLD TINGE FOR DUXEDIX

GUINEAS,

(By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.")

CHRISTCHURCH, this day.

Mr. G. L. Greenwood's Australianbred two-year-old Ozone, by Saltash from Alios, is on the easy list. He showed some promise in a few eaii\ sprints, but he is a big fellow, who should be benefited by time. Apparently a patient policy is to be pursued with him, as he is to be reserved for the autumn. His stable mate Praise, by Limond from Eulogy, remains in work, 'but her tasks are of a light description at present. Dutch Money is putting plenty of dash into her training work. She is booked to race at Ashburton, and her form there will be watched with interest, as she lonics a likely sort for the Dimedin Guineas. Hoylake is being kept to easy tasks at present. He was given a useful sixfurlong spin last Saturday, but he is restricted to light exercise in the centre of the course on most mornings. The imported grey looks in good health. G. J Tine'has Twang moving along in good form 011 the tracks. The big Archery four-year-old raced twice last season without earning any money, but he shapes like paving his way shortly. The proposal to send Gold Tinge to Sydney for the spring racing has been abandoned, and the big Paper Money three-year-old will be got ready to race in the Dunedin Guineas next month. W. J. Tomkinson is giving him plenty of strong work, and a few smart gallops should assist to get him to his best form. Mr. G. J. Barton's three-year-old Academy, by Lcighton from First Class, is training on well under the direction of W. J. Tomkinson. He is a promising young horse, who should develop useful form later in the season. The Wellington owner, Mr. W. H. Ballinger has another spring trip in the South Island in contemplation this year, with Black Mint and Royal Game as his representatives. They are freely engaged at Geraldine, and probably they will go on to Kurow and Dunedin. Waihemo and Pangolin are two Picear ton novices booked to commence their careers as jumpers at the Geraldine meeting.
