The Auckland Education Board met this morning, Mr. A. Burns presiding. Permission was granted the Epsom, Leamington, Meadowbank, Onehunga and Te Matarau schools to introduce the Nelson system of Bible reading in schools, referendums amongst parents having favvoured the scheme. The Education Department advised that, in addition to probationers in the Auckland district, approximately 32 probationers from the Taranaki district would be admitted to the Auckland Training College next year. j Messrs. S. B. Sims and F. A. Snell, the retiring members, were reappointed to represent the board 011 the Hamilton Technical High School Board. The board's solicitor reported that the Crown Lands Department advised that there did not seem any reason why the board should not proceed with the erection of an open-air classroom on portion of the Avondale South Domain, which it was proposed to acquire. All responsibility, however, must rest with the board. The architect was instructed to draw up plans for the new building immediately he returned from the Taranaki district, where he is to inspect the open-an typo of school buildings in use there.
