EDEN DISTRICT CLUB.

i At the annual meeting on Monday of the : Eden District Cricket Club it was decided after a lengthy discussion, to instruct the delegates to press for the admission of two Eden teams to the senior competition this season. While it was admitted that the entering of two teams of even strength would reduce the club's chance of gaining the senior championship, the supporters of the proposal argued that compensation would be had by added life to the club membership In the attraction offered to recruits. Under present conditions there was not the same Inducement for recruits from. elsewhere and from the junior ranks. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Sir George Fowlds; vice-patrons, Sir James Guuson and Mr. J. M. Caughey; president, Mr. 0. Nicholson; vice-presidents, last year's re-elected with the addition of Mr. A. L. Caughey; management committee, Messrs. E.-C. Beale, P. Shaw, H. D. Gillespie, W. Brook Smith, A. J. Postles, J. H. Holloway and F. McCarthy; hon. secretary, Mr. J. A. Bissett; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. P. Weir; hon. auditors, Mr. B. A. C. Auger and Mr. K. P. W. Whelan.
