OPENS AT MARTON TO-MORROW.

ACCEPTANCES FOR FIRST DAY.

GOOD FIELDS ENGAGED IN ALL EVENTS

THE PROGRAMME REVIEWED.

The Marton meeting, which opens at Marton to-morrow, marks the return of spring racing in New Zealand, for the minimum from now on, except in certain events, will be 7.0. There are numerous horses engaged who will be racing in Auckland before long, and in consequence thu> fixture, combined with Wanganui next week, may serve to throw some light later in the month on the Avondale meeting, which will be the first of the important meetings to be held in the Auckland district. The fields are excellent, in fact, one has to go back some way to find such acceptances for a spring meeting at Marton, and it only requires good weather to make the gathering one of the most successful this club has experienced.
