MR. ARTHUR STUBBS
U the age of 00 years. Mr. Arthur Stubbs diecUt his home Wapiti Averme, Epsom, on September 1. He ? e ? in the Civil Service for 40 yeais, until he retired in 1922 from the position of Registrar of the Supreme Court at A c ; land Mr. Stubbs was born at Llunes.'j Victoria, and «» to Zs ?'f 'S ISSO two years later joining the start of the Supreme Court at *apier In 1901. he was appointed Deputy-Regi-trar of tire Supreme Court at Dunedin, and was eight years later transferred to Wellington in a like capacity. In January. 1919, Mr. Stubbs was appointed Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland. He was devoted to his duties, and cs.teemecl bv members of the legal profession. Mr. "Stubbs' was a wellknown member of the Remuera Bowling Club. In his younger days he held a commission in 'the Napier Rifles. Mr. Stubbs is survived by his wife (formerly Miss Fannie Algar) and the following children:—Mr. A. F. Stubbs, of Carterton: Miss C. A. Stubbs, of Auckland; Mrs. B» Burton, of Oamaru; and Mrs. W. J. Forsyth, of -Dannevirke. - Interment was private to-day.
