With a gate realising £1286, and the totalisator turnover for the day amounting to £35,522 10/, it is hoped that the sum the Auckland Trotting Club will be able to contributed to the Earthquake Relief Fund as a. result of the trotting meeting at Alexander Park on Saturday will be not less than £5000. This is quite satisfactory, and is due in no small measure to the announcement of the Prime Minister that the usual taxation payable to the Government will on tliis occasion be refunded. The sum to be refunded is £2662 18/-. TROTTING HORSES ARRIVE. On the Ulimaroa, which arrived from Sydney this morning, were four trotting horses. No particulars are available beyond that they are consigned to Mr. H. J. Millen, at Pakuranga.
