TRAMWAY EXTENSIONS.

WORK TO COMMENCE MONDAY

INQUIRIES FROM UNEMPLOYED

In reply to a direct question by Mr. M. J. Coyle at this morning's meeting ot' the Auckland Transport Board, the chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, stated that the contractors had advised that work would commence next Monday on the Point Chevalier tramway extension.

Mr. Coyle said many inquiries were being made by unemployed men who were anxious to be engaged. The chairman said there had been a little delay over the tenders, but that had all been cleared up.
