DEVONPORT ORPHANS' CLUB.

Past-presidents' night at the Devonporfc Orphans' Club on Saturday evening was one of the most successful meetings of the present winter series. Past-president Bro. F. Gribbin occupied the chair, and in humorous vein gave some interesting reminiscences of the early history of the club. Other previous occupants of the presidential chair present were Messrs. J. Armstrong, J. Bray, A. Goldwater, A. W. Tattou. R. T. Michaels, A. A. Hough and H. S. W. King. The official visitors for the evening were the Tainaki Club, represented by president 0. J. Lovegrove, secretary G. Scott, and Messrs. G. Clark, J. Reid and S. Greenough. A resolution of sympathy was passed with the Auckland Orphans' Club and the relatives of the late Mr. J. D. Crawford. Orchestral items were rendered under the baton of Dr. T. de Clive Lowe. Vocal items were contributed by Bros. Farrow, S. E. Clyde, Mr. Norgrove, Mi\ McMichael, duet by Messrs. Littler and Farrow, and recitation by Bro. Perry Taylor. Bro. Moody acted as accompanist.
