Greta Garbo, -who is in a position to have almost anything «he "wants, takes genuine pleasure in visiting an ordinary motion picture theatre rather than sitting in a private projection room. John Gilbert, who owns a fleet of limousines, drives a little coupe when he wants to enjoy a motor excursion, and Lon Chaney would rather sit down and gossip with a bunch of old stage hands at a lunch counter than be entertained by royalty. Marion Davies has more fun playing bridge on the eet for matches than she ever had at Monte Carlo, and Nils Asther prefers to spend a da.y off at the zoo, than to keep social appointments homing more glamorous promise. William Haines is to be found watching somebody else ■working at the studios when he is "between pictures - ' and taking his enjoyment at their expense. Buster Keaton is always to be found playing ball on the back lot with a bunch of kids when he might be expected to be yachting instead.
