GRACEFUL LACE
LARGER HATS

Summer is at its height, and the Paris season is in full-swing. Smart people gather for tea in the Bois, at the Chateau de Madrid, Armenonville, and the Pre Catelan, and the smartest, flimsiest frocks are worn, gay chiffons, and delicate silk, and with them, large or small hats of exotic straw in natural shades. Dresses of satin, or of georgette, are also seen, showing the most irregular volants or uneven panels which make the frock longer at one side than the other. It i≤ noticeable, too, that colours are often dark in order to better show off the beautiful jewels that are worn. To be well-dressed at tea time, is as necessary as it is to be chic in the evening, and to that end, the dressmakers of to-day create some of their most beautiful models. This habit of taking tea has
